EMMY NOMS 2010: WHAT WENT WRONG & WHAT WENT RIGHT

HERE WE GOO..................

OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES:

All My Children, ABC
The Bold And The Beautiful, CBS
General Hospital, ABC
The Young And The Restless, CBS

-So, ATWT or OLTL had no chance because of failing ratings? I really wish that both had recieved nominations, because both were great with storylines. Whatever, the real winner will be (IMO) Y&R, because of fantastic storylines, great acting, and the ability to make me keep watching every week with suspense... all equate a great soap.

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES:

Sarah Brown, General Hospital, ABC
Crystal Chappell, Guiding Light, CBS
Bobbie Eakes, All My Children, ABC
Michelle Stafford, The Young And The Restless, CBS
Maura West, As The World Turns, CBS

-Knowing that the Emmys should have given a nom to Teri (Katie, ATWT) [and she would have been the frontrunner of this race, but i guess episdoes recently have not given Teri the chance to shine], and the performances of West and Stafford (and the limited material of Chappell); I'll assume that with the Emmy love for GH, it'll probably go to Sarah Brown.

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES:

Peter Bergman, The Young And The Restless, CBS
Doug Davidson, The Young And The Restless, CBS
Jon Lindstrom, As The World Turns, CBS
Michael Park, As The World Turns, CBS
James Scott, Days Of Our Lives, NBC

-This category is better than the similar Female category this year!! (which I always think is the most exciting category..) I am so happy to see ATWT and Y&R love!!! This is difficult for me to pick, but if I had to narrow it down to two, it would be Davidson and Lindstrom based on their powerful performances. With Davidson winning by a hair, he is very talented, but i wouldn't mind Lindstrom winning, either.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES:

Beth Chamberlin, Guiding Light, CBS
Carolyn Hennesy, General Hospital, ABC
Julie Pinson, As The World Turns, CBS
Bree Williamson, One Life To Live, ABC
Arianne Zucker, Days Of Our Lives, NBC

-I am pleased overall, but I do believe that Betty White (Ann Douglas, B&B) and Stacy H. (Patty/Emily, Y&R) were SEVERLY snubbed, both turned in great performances and if Stacy had gotten nominated, she would be the frontrunner for sure. My top two would be Williamson and Pinson, since I've seen and know both the characters' storylines, but if it were a year for Pinson to get it it would be this year, because she had a great emotional ride with Janet.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES:

Bradford Anderson, General Hospital, ABC
Ricky Paull Goldin, All My Children, ABC
Jonathan Jackson, General Hospital, ABC
Brian Kerwin, One Life To Live, ABC
Billy Miller, The Young And The Restless, CBS

-WHERE IS KEVIN FROM Y&R?! HE HAS GIVEN A FANTASTIC.... OH WHATEVER. I was also shocked that Van Hansis (Luke, ATWT) had not recieved a pre-nom... if it was any year for him to win, this would have been a good one... WHATEVER. After watching a breif clip of Anderson on GH, I'd say that he'd had the category in a lock-in, but I think Kerwin could give him a run for his money.

OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES:

Julie Berman, General Hospital, ABC
Molly Burnett, Days Of Our Lives, NBC
Shelley Hennig, Days Of Our Lives, NBC
Christel Khalil, The Young And The Restless, CBS
Marnie Schulenburg, As The World Turns, CBS

-I SINCERLY THINK KHALIL SHOULD WIN. She has been fantastic and it would be a shame for her to lose... (I also think CBS made a big mistake of not nominating Meridith Hagner (ex-Liberty, ATWT) for her performance)

OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES:

Drew Tyler Bell, The Bold And The Beautiful, CBS
Scott Clifton, One Life To Live, ABC
Zack Conroy, Guiding Light, CBS
Drew Garrett, General Hospital, ABC
Dylan Patton, Days Of Our Lives, NBC

-I don't know much about the nominees in the category, but if I had to take a guess based on the material I HAVE seen, I'd say that Clifton had the best chance of winning.
